Bbq experiment: Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers.

I call bullshit.  An experiment is only an experiment when you aren’t sure of what the outcome is going to be.  Obviously, this was going to be awesome.  Hence, no experimentation.

Obviously this wasn’t so much an experiment in taste as it was an experiment in process.
Of course grilled bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos are going to be awesome!  But we’re teachers who weren’t going to be satisfied with just plain awesome grilled bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos.  We wanted the the most awesomest grilled bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos ever.
What is the best time for cooking on the grill before transferring to foil so the cheese doesn’t get all over the grill? We did 4 minutes and could go longer especially if cream cheese is cold at start of cooking, but determined further experimentation is needed!
Should you rotate the peppers before transferring to foil? Yes!  If so how much time on each side? At least 3 minutes each side, needs further experimentation!
How long should the peppers cook in the foil?  Not sure, but keep the foil on the lower grill rack.  The top rack is not hot enough.  Needs further experimentation!
Should the peppers be placed directly on the grill a second time before serving?  Only if the bacon wasn’t cooked well enough the first time around!
Should we have stuffed the peppers from the top like shown above, or would it be better to slice the pepper length wise and fill?  Or maybe we should have held onto the pepper tops that we cut off and placed them back on to help contain the cheese as it melted?  Or is there another way to contain the cheese? Yes, there is a better way to contain the cheese. Needs further experimentation!
These are very important questions. Some were known at the onset and some were discovered during the actual process of cooking.  Some questions we answered. Some we didn’t.  We ran out of bacon wrapped cheese stuffed jalapeno peppers!  But the ones we made last were far superior to the ones we made first.  Only teachers would have the tenacity when faced with bacon goodness to press on and continue to improve the bacon goodness.  Most people would just be satisfied with plain old awesome.
Teachers aren’t satisfied with plain old awesome!  And watch your language!  What will BB think?
