USB in tEV →
I was very annoyed when the Pioneer Theater closed its doors.  I never went there that often, but that’s only because I don’t go anywhere that often.  And I loved that I lived near a place that would have a midnight showing of Donnie Darko for weeks on end.  Not a lot of places like that anymore. In any case, I was annoyed.  BUT, I just learned what was taking it’s place!  The...

huge: Whoa!  I wonder if this is how the scientists at Puppy Recycling have been doing it? Also, this is the most horrifying thing I’ve ever heard.  I seriously think we should set aside part of the US stimulus package to keep this gene sequence away from the monkey robots… (Link via kirindave) From the article: The Turritopsis Nutricula is able to revert back to a juvenile form once it ...

Songsmith Awesomeness
I stumbled upon a post on Gawker about how terrible is MS Songsmith (the app that has you sing a song, which will then have a background track generated automagically).  Maybe I’m a little late to the whole Songsmith thing to be posting an opinion, but I have to completely disagree.  Doing youtube searches (youtube’ing?) for Songsmith videos comes up with an entire family of videos...

Also, Zombies.
myfirstsodabread: Lately, when I am sitting next to a stranger on the bus (and only on the bus, never the subway),  I have found myself envisioning different scenarios of how I would react if the stranger turned out to be a zombie or vampire. Is that strange? Strange?  Yes.  Why I love you?  Yes.

What the F*ck is a Frush?
mikesabat: From Kennyb: (prettyhuge) Did I tell you guys that I confronted my parents in re: the twitter thing?  My mom was like “What’s a twitto?” and my dad was all “I had to come to your apartment to get Skype hooked up, how do you think I know what Twitter is?” Am I psyched or pissed that I have to reblog a conversation that I had with somebody from a third party’s tumblr?  If this...

– Instapundit » Blog Archive » CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. OBAMA Glenn Reynolds gives voice to an interesting hope for the future.  At the same time, he implicitly points out a fascinating aspect of how we (humans) have a lot of trouble seeing where we are now - we’re only really cognizant...

tonblr: What kind of paperwork does Obama have to sign on his first day?  Does he have to choose a healthcare plan?  Does he have to pay a deposit to get the nuke keys?  Does he have to sit through a boring seminar on worker safety? Really good point.  Sexual harassment talk by the ironically sexy lawyer lady?

Getting off track
In my life, dependancies and distraction combine to create the greatest potential pitfalls.  As a for-instance, I just decided I had something I wanted to share in Twitter, but I was in Xcode with pretty all distractions shut down (no web browsers open, in my bedroom with the cat outside, etc), and I was thinking how great it would be to have a little twitter app running.  I generally use...

"Look Around You" - Google Video →
A faux-educational science show, in the style of something you would ‘get’ to watch instead of paying attention to your 5th grade teacher.  I first heard about it on The Sound of Young America, but was reintroduced by a link on some blog.   REEEEEEEEEALLLY funny.

The new tumblr dashboard
I really like the new tumblr dashboard, having all the tumblogs I’m a contributor to on the right side of the content.  It makes me want to start a whole new set of tumblrs, and not update *them* on a regular basis, either!

I spilled some coffee an hour ago, and I just noticed now.  It had dried, and created a stain on my desk that I couldn’t remove by just rubbing it with my finger.  I didn’t have any water on my desk to clean it with…   But I *did* have a cup of coffee.  So I poured some coffee on a napkin, and used that to rub away the coffee stain.  I understand why that works, more or less. ...
